Why does the Lookup button not always find details for a Publication?

There will be many cases where the details for a publication will not be automatically returned by the “Lookup” button. The reason is because there is no comprehensive master database of publications. The app is just providing a light-weight helper that will often return incomplete or empty results.

In fact you might remember that you were warned that this would be the case. All users have to “Acknowledge” this fact when they use the Lookup button for the first time…

It is very easy to manually enter in the details for a publication. You can:

  • Type in most details yourself.
  • Copy details from a webpage and paste them into ServicePlanner.
  • Save images found in your browser to your Camera Roll and then use the “Add Cover” to insert the image.
